The Numbers Tell the Story Connecticut roads continue to see tens of thousands of motor vehicle accidents every year. In 2025, preliminary Connecticut crash data indicates that there were approximately 83,750 motor vehicle crashes statewide. That represents a significant decrease from approximately 104,235 crashes reported in 2024.
While the number of crashes declined, serious and fatal accidents remain a major concern. Connecticut recorded 274 roadway fatalities in 2025, down from 312 in 2024. This represented a 12% decrease in traffic fatalities.
Behind every statistic is a person or family whose life may have been changed by a motor vehicle accident. Crashes can result in broken bones, traumatic brain injuries, spinal injuries, lost wages, permanent disabilities and, tragically, death.
For individuals injured in Connecticut motor vehicle accidents, determining who was responsible and identifying all available sources of compensation can be critical. Evidence such as police reports, photographs, witness statements, medical records, vehicle damage and accident reconstruction can play an important role in establishing liability.
At our personal injury law firm, we understand that a motor vehicle accident is more than a number. It can have lasting consequences for an injured person and his or her family.
