My office has seen an alarming number of auto accident cases where our clients are injured because the negligence of another auto driver but that driver has no insurance. Now our client has to go under the provision of her policy called "uninsured motorist coverage." This provision allows you to actually bring a claim against your own insurance policy for your injuries because the other driver had no insurance. This uninsured provision is mandatory for all auto policies written for Connecticut vehicles. The important thing to remember here is to get at least $100,000.00 in uninsured motorist coverage to protect you in case of a more serious injury. Do not be pennywise and pound foolish with your health and well being.
