With Christmas a few days a way and 2019 hanging around the corner, why not think about setting goals for 2019 whether they be personal, career, financial or "self-improvement."
As an Attorney I am required to take continuing legal education as a condition to practice law by the State of Connecticut. I take this matter very seriously and I understand the importance of keeping up to date with the state of the law, new statutes or cases and of course technology.
Let's face it, technology has changed the way lawyers practice law and even the court system requires documents to be filed electronically.
Things move quickly because the speed of communication. Even the rules of evidence reflect and recognize email and social media as part of discovery in lawsuits and trial.
With so many changes in the world, business, law and technology, I find it important to set goals before the new year to make time to take continuing legal education in order to better represent my clients and progress as a better lawyer and human being.
So why not set some goals in between wrapping gifts making Christmas feasts and planning New Year's Eve celebrations.
Perhaps you always wanted to learn a new skill or become better at what you are already doing in your career or other area of your life.
The best way to do this is as the new year inches closer, think about what you want for your self (A goal) in 2019. Call it a "wish list" and set a goal and work it daily in 2019 or even earlier. Why wait to make that goal a reality!!!
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year
